Since 2016, TechEnergy For Africa e.V. has been dedicated to transforming African communities through technology and sustainable development.
To empower African communities through technology-driven sustainable development, providing access to renewable energy, clean water, quality education, and digital skills that create lasting positive change.
A thriving Africa where every community has access to clean energy, safe water, quality education, and the technological tools needed to build a prosperous, sustainable future.
TechEnergy For Africa e.V. (TEFA) was founded in Berlin in 2016 by a group of passionate individuals with African heritage who recognized the transformative power of combining technology with sustainable development.
Our founders—engineers, scientists, and technology professionals—came together with a shared vision: to leverage their expertise to address critical challenges facing African communities: lack of electricity, clean water, quality education, and economic opportunities.
Starting with our first "Water is Energy" project in 2016, we expanded to include solar installations, school construction, digital skills training, and environmental programs. Today, we work across multiple African countries with a focus on Cameroon.
As a registered nonprofit (gemeinnütziger Verein) in Germany, we maintain the highest standards of transparency and accountability.
Projects designed with and for the communities we serve.
Solutions that last and grow with communities over time.
Using technology creatively to solve real-world challenges.
Open and accountable in everything we do.
Join us in our mission to empower African communities.
